2016 ELM Header

The Food & Farming program connects eaters and food buyers to local farms and fisherman, supports new farmers, and is a resource for building a vibrant local food economy.

We connect local food & farming businesses of all kinds

with events like the NW WA Farm-to-Table Trade Meeting, through organizations such as the NW WA Chefs Collective and Chef Farm Tours, building relationships through Farm Fresh Workplaces and one-on-one consultations and more.

We celebrate local food in our community

through the Eat Local First Campaign Harvest of the Month, and awesome events and resources like September Eat Local Month, the Whatcom County Farm Tour, annual CSA Fair, Demo Days at the Market, and the Whatcom Food & Farm Finder.

We help grow new farmers

through our Food to Bank On Program, which gives beginning farmers business training, mentorship, and connections to markets. We also collaborate with multiple local partners across the region growing a stronger local food economy.
