Current Volunteer & Internship Opportunities
If you would like to help with any of the following opportunities please contact April at april@sconnect.org or 647-7093 x104.
Thank you!
Buy Local Week Online Auction
Assisting with a brand new online auction fundraiser for Buy Local Week. Work may include soliciting donations, collecting and distributing those donations, preparing photos and descriptions for the online auction items and promoting the fundraiser.
Event Interns
One of our most common volunteer/intern opportunities is helping to plan and prep our big events. Some of these include: Spring Business Conference (winter/spring), Home & Landscape Tour (spring/summer), and Eat Local Week/Kindred Spirits (summer/fall). We also have smaller Green Building tours & workshops, Farmer/Chef tours & workshops, and Sustainable Business Practices workshops throughout the year. Ideally someone will be in our office two days per week for 2-4 hours each time and will be able to see the event through from the initial planning stages through to the actual event. If you are interested please e-mail april@sconnect.org with the event/program you are most interested in and any relevant experience.
Data Entry Assistance
We are often in need of people that can come into the office periodically to help with data entry. Specific projects include: inputting Farm Map data, updating Membership info, entering Event Attendance as well as other one time projects.
Video Assistance
Familiar with You Tube? We're looking for someone to help us upload our SC DVds onto You Tube and also to stream portions of it on our website.
Food & Farming Website Assistance
We are in need of someone to help update the Food & Farming portion of the Sustainable Connections website. You don’t need html experience, but some website experience is preferred (or at least a knack for quickly learning new computer programs). Some photoshop experience is also useful. The project may include adding biographies of our member farmers, publicizing upcoming events and general updating of the section.
General Website Assistance
We have quite a few small projects that we could use help with on our Sustainable Connections website. You don’t need html experience, but some website experience is preferred (or at least a knack for quickly learning new computer programs). Some photoshop experience is also useful. These include updating information about past events, publicizing upcoming events, adding new information to our Sustainable Practices online handbook and general help cleaning up some areas of the site.
