ENERGY SAVING TIPSCEC logo

These small actions can lead to big savings. They require little to no initial investment, and the best part is that you can get started saving energy and money today!

Make sure your thermostat is programmed correctly

Turning your heat down 10°F for 8 hours per day can save you 10% on your heating costs. Program your thermostat to automatically turn the heat down when you're sleeping or away from the house and you can effortlessly enjoy these savings.

Set your washing machine to use cold water

Washing in cold water gets clothes just as clean as a warm or hot wash. Give it a try and start enjoying clean clothes and a reduced energy bill.

Double check that your light bulbs are all compact fluorescent or LED

CFL bulbs use up to 75% less energy and last 10 times longer than their incandescent counterparts, and LEDs can last 30 times longer!
