Smith & Vallee Woodworks is proud to unveil its newest collection of furniture, “The Tombstone Project,” and the grand opening of its new Edison woodshop. In keepingwith their focus on sustainability, Wesley Smith and Andrew Vallee built this newestcollection out of salvaged materials from a 1880s Edison barn that they recentlyremodeled into Smith & Vallee Woodworksʼ new shop.
Smith & Vallee spent the majority of one year renovating the barn that became theirstate of the art woodshop. Keeping the historic exterior and character of the buildingwas important so they restored the facade, and framed the interior essentially to be a building within a building. Down the road from Smith & Vallee Gallery, the renovated barn also includes an artist studio for Edison artist Todd Horton.
“The Tombstone Project” will be on view at Smith & Vallee Gallery, July 9 - 31, 2011 with a reception and woodshop grand opening on Saturday, July 9th from 5-8pm.
Hours: Wed - Sun, 11am – 5pm.
We are located in our restored turn-of-the-century schoolhouse at 5742 Gilkey Ave, Edison, WA, 98232. More information can be found on our website: www.smithandvallee.com
