It’s spring and time to start thinking about fresh food in Whatcom County, Workplace CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture) and the benefits it can bring to your business.
The sustainable practice, “Workplace CSAs”, brings farmers and consumers together through a delivery program of farm fresh produce to your workplace/office. Then Sustainable Connections promotes you as a business that supports the local food economy!
Hear success stories from businesses who offered a Workplace CSA this past year and some alternative funding ideas to make it more affordable for employees. And see results from our most recent Workplace CSA survey where we learned stats like… 63% of participants enjoyed better nutrition because of the CSA program.
“The convenience of having vegetables delivered to work makes it possible to make healthy choices on a daily basis.” From a 2011 Workplace CSA participant
Farmers who are offering Workplace CSAs this year will be at the member lunch to answer your questions about setting up your own Workplace CSA.
Workplace CSAs are a great opportunity for farmers and businesses to work together to promote employee wellness and a healthy diet, offer the convenience of purchasing fresh, affordable, nutritious local produce delivered right to work, supporting local agriculture, sustainable farming practices and the local economy. All business members are encouraged to attend.
A fully local lunch will be available for $10 or bring your own - member lunch meetings are always free!
