— filed under:

Member Lunches are a great way to meet other members, learn something new, and take time to network with your community of businesses! We encourage you to bring a brown bag lunch; we'll provide beverages. The first 15 minutes of the lunch hour will be dedicated to meeting and connecting with other members.

December's lunch will host Lara Welker from Whatcom Alliance for Healthcare Access & Jim Stevens from the Unity Group who will fill us in on some very interesting healthcare updates and programs for Small Businesses.

Did you know...

●   An estimated 22,253 people in Whatcom County do not have health insurance (about 11% of the county's population). Of the people without health insurance, 60% are working adults.

●   Small businesses that provide health insurance for their employees may be able to take advantage of the new Small Business Health Care Tax Credit.

●    In Washington State, the new Health Insurance Partnership (HIP) subsidizes health insurance costs for eligible small businesses, including sole proprietors.

●    About 90% of Whatcom County's small businesses are of eligible size to take advantage of HIP and the small business tax credit.

Come and enjoy some hot apple cider and cookies with your SC friends this month while taking a minute to catch your breath during this busy time of year.  Bring your lunch and a smile.  We will provide the rest. The first 15 minutes of the lunch hour will be dedicated to meeting and connecting with other members.
