   Kindred Spirits Celebration '08

Join us for a Picnic and Party on a Farm with your Kindred Spirits! Summer is here, and we want to help you celebrate accordingly (with good beer, down-home music, and water balloons, that is!)  We hope to see you all at Boxx Berry Farm for this year's Kindred Spirits shindig!

When: Sunday September 7th 1:00 pm-6:00 pm

Where: Boxx Berry Farm: 6211 Northwest Road
Ferndale

Who: You - our 600+ local business members, (our favorite people in town), and your friends & family!

How: Carpool or ride your bike!  Group bike ride leaving from the Public Market at 12:00 pm (family-friendly pace) approximately 12 miles to the farm.

We are hoping to coordinate another ride at 1:00 or 2:00 pm as well.  We're still looking for leaders.  Contact Laura at Laura@Sconnect.org if you are interested.

Music: Bluegrass band: King Ludd.  Listen to them here:http://www.myspace.com/kingluddmusic

Provisions: We will have Boundary Bay Beer for sale, delectable corn on the cob (straight from the farm), and other scrumptious snacks, but please bring your own picnic lunch. There will be ample BBQ space available, so feel free to bring grillables!

Kindred Spirits is changing
Although the Harvest Chase will not be a part of this year's festivities, we will have plenty of opportunity for rabel rousing!  A plethora of funny, nostalgic games will be available to fill your silliness quota.  Think sack races and duck duck goose!  (And though it's not a fundraiser this year, let us know if you want to attend a more intimate fundraising gathering we are hosting this fall!)

It's going to be a really fun afternoon with really fun people.  How better to kick off Eat Local Week - then a pack your own 'local' picnic lunch, a bike ride, great bluegrass music and beer on a berry farm, and games with friends.
Can't wait to see you there!
