The Chrysalis was one of the original participants in the Community Energy Challenge back in 2011. Since then they have done a series of measures to save energy in their building. Including installing; high efficiency boilers, water heaters, lighting sensors, and replacing existing lighting with LED bulbs. More recently they have done analysis on saving water, and are considering further measures to save more energy.
They’ve just finished an extensive Sustainability Report that includes; elements of their environmental stewardship, employee engagement, and implements valuable data for tracking. They’ve worked hard to calculate their emissions, measure their energy use, and water conservation. They also aim to use only non-toxic chemicals in their cleaning supplies, in their amenities offered to guests and in their Spa products.
They are a key participant in our Towards Zero Waste campaign, and have significantly reduced their waste output and employed various measures designed to further their sustainability initiative. 56% of waste is now composted or recycled, and they have hopes to reach 80% in 2016! Congratulations Chrysalis team, your hard work is paying off.
