Come celebrate this year’s winter solstice at Boundary Bay Brewery’s Bootlegger Speakeasy!
The year is 1920. The 18th Amendment ratified and the U.S. is pronounced a dry country. But what about all the craft beer, you ask?? No need to smuggle booze in your boot here…we’ve got ya’ covered. Come celebrate this year’s winter solstice at Boundary Bay Brewery’s Bootlegger Speakeasy!
Ninety-seven years ago the tradition of bootlegging came about in response to the Prohibition. Americans who were not quite ready to give up their booze found sneakier loopholes around the authorities. “Speakeasies” began to pop up as illicit taverns selling booze as patrons were told to “speak easy” about these unauthorized saloons.
This year our brewers have SIX barrel-aged beers on draft including a Bootlegger Stout and Bootlegger Thirsty Ghost release……As well as THREE other special surprises up their boots.
These beers sit quietly in the caverns of Boundary Bay maturing in maple syrup barrels as well as rum, bourbon, whiskey and scotch barrels from Chuckanut Bay Distillery.
Historical trivia of Bellingham will be put on by Good Time Girls Tours and complimentary snacks by Boundary Bay Catering! An event of the year to celebrate these one of a kind beers.
