A basketful of family activities are planned during Easter weekend, April 20-21, at Whatcom County’s Bellewood Acres.

The annual spring celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days includes an Easter egg hunt with prizes for children, photos with the Easter bunny, live entertainment, a petting zoo, facepainting, pony rides and tractor train rides through the blossoming orchards. Admission is only $7 for children and adults are free.

Dana’s Music Playhouse will be engaging children with energetic songs and play at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 20. Fiddler Kera-Lynne Newman and Jan Peters on bouzouki and harmonicas will perform Irish and American fiddle tunes at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Easter, April 21.

Adults are invited to sample farm-made spirits from the on-site distillery both days. A selection of organic vegetable starts will be featured at a plant sale on Easter, April 21, with proceeds benefiting the Growing Veterans organization.

Bellewood Acres includes 62 acres with apple and pear orchards and a 14,000-square-foot building containing a market and gift shop, café, bakery and distillery. The property is located at 6140 Guide Meridian, about halfway between Bellingham and Lynden.
