The Eat Local First Trade Meeting is NW Washington’s premier food & farm business conference. We bring together 180+ farmers, fishers, chefs, grocery buyers, food artisans, processors, and distributors for one day filled with valuable networking and connection opportunities, a vibrant expo, inspiring business panels, and the ever-delicious locally sourced lunch.

11:00am—Speed Networking—Bring your business cards and your elevator pitch for this riveting session of networking that will help you find the folks you want to connect with during the conference.

1:15pm—Marketing Panel—Brand and innovation strategist, Caron Bush, from Hook & Loop Strategy will lead a marketing panel discussion with local businesses on how to breakthrough in an increasingly loud world. We will discuss how local businesses are adapting and sharing their unique stories or vendors’ stories to differentiate in today’s cluttered marketplace.
Panelists include: Lisa Oostema from Oostema Wagyu; Alex Winstead from Cascadia Mushrooms; Tam Nguyen from TamTam Pizza; Lydia Cox from Community Food Co-op; and Megan Bailey from Snack Plate Creative.

2:30pm—Round-up: Future of Food and Farming—This session brings together regional leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore cutting-edge solutions, collaboration, and policy shaping the next generation of sustainable food and farming in Washington State.

Breakfast

Local teas and local coffee with half & half, soy creamer, and sugar

Breakfast snack: Mini bagels provided by The Bagelry and GF Bagels from Shambala Bakery with local jam, Vache, spreadable goat cheese, and smoked salmon filets

Italian-style Chopped Salad
Napa cabbage, radicchio, and kale salad with olives, salami, chickpeas, feta, and basil tossed with red wine vinaigrette (GF, Veg. option)

Lentil Salad with Roasted Vegetables and Pulled Chicken
WA lentils with roasted delicata squash, Brussels sprouts, beets, shallots, and
roasted pulled chicken tossed with apple cider vinaigrette (GF, Veg. option)

Doughs Bakery Bread with Spreads and Cheeses
Sliced bread served with local cheeses and spreads: smoked salmon and lemon
skyr, carrot hummus, and mushroom pate (some GF crackers)

Choice of soup
Potato-kale soup with pork sausage (DF)
Roasted squash soup with coconut and ginger (Vegan)

Dessert

Sundae Bar with Mallard Ice Cream (vegan options)
K’ul chocolate sauce, apple cider caramel, raspberry sauce, blueberry sauce, hazelnut brittle, and whipped cream

After Hours Gathering

Local beers, wine, ciders, kombucha
House-made sourdough foccacia served two ways: with potato, rosemary, and cheese and with apples (VEG.)
Lamb sirloin bites with fresh herb chimichurri (DF/GF)
Fried Brussels Sprouts with balsamic glaze (VEGAN)
Seafood bar with chilled prawns, oysters on the half shell with mignonette, and uni (DF/GF)

We have a limited number of scholarships available for those who would like to attend the Trade Meeting but for whom the ticket price is a barrier. Sustainable Connections believes that communities thrive with the inclusion of all people and want to bring visibility to those who enrich our community. We will prioritize applicants based on these traits:
