Historian and author Janet Oakley will join the Whatcom County Historical Society to present “Food’s On: Eating and Preserving in Early Whatcom County” from 7:30-9pm at Whatcom Museum’s Old City Hall, 121 Prospect St. Oakley churned her first batch of butter while teaching in the woods for the Bellingham School District. Since then, she has presented 19th century food ways at San Juan Island Historical National Park and in schools for 20 years. Suggested donation is $5.
