Save the Date! You are invited to the 20th Annual Peace Builder Awards, presented by Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center.

The evening will highlight our 2023 Peace Builder award winners, whose work in the areas of Social Justice, Education, Reconciliation, and Collaboration have made Whatcom County a more just and peaceful place to live. Nominations for 2023 Peace Builders are now open, and we will be accepting submissions through July 7th!

Additionally, we are currently accepting submissions for our annual Youth Peace Poetry contest. Winners will present their beautiful and moving readings during the Peace Builder Awards. All youth ages 18 and under who are living in Whatcom County are eligible, and we welcome creative submissions of poems, raps, lyrics, spoken word, songs, stories, or any kind of short creative writing piece!

The Peace Builder Awards have spotlighted over 150 individuals and organizations since 2003, whose remarkable acts of community-building have strengthened our neighborhoods, schools, and Whatcom County at large. The Peace Builder Awards also serves as a core fundraising event, to support WDRC’s full range of conflict prevention and intervention services for individuals, families, organizations, and businesses.
