Event Details: Join us for the first event in the Employee Ownership Stories series, hosted by A1DesignBuild and the Washington Center for Employee Ownership (WACEO). Join us as A1DesignBuild shares the inspiring journey of how A-1 Builders transitioned into a worker-owned cooperative. You’ll hear directly from founder Rick Dubrow, current employee-owner Shawn Serdahl, and organizational design consultant Andrew Cline as they discuss practical challenges, personal experiences, and lessons learned over the course of the transition.
This event invites our community to come together and hear how these business owners’ decision to transition their company to employee ownership helped establish a long-standing, respected institution in Whatcom County. It’s open to everyone — those curious about what employee ownership could look like for their organizations, current worker-owners, and community members alike.
Thank you for your interest in joining us! Space is limited to 25, so please register below to reserve your spot. We look forward to seeing you at the event, and if you need to cancel, please do so as early as possible to make room for someone on the waitlist.
