Located in Bellingham, Kulture Kleaning Services is a Black-owned, LGBTQ-owned, and Veteran-owned small business bringing sustainability and eco-friendly cleaning to homes, lawns, and communities.
Kulture Kleaning Services is co-owned by Tomash Jones and his uncle, Vincent Jones. The idea is to bring a new innovative business with affordable services to serve Whatcom County residents and businesses.
Understanding that cleanliness extends beyond the front door, their residential bin cleaning services are “designed to keep your bins as pristine as your living space, ensuring they are free of dirt, germs, and odors.”
Tomash recalls, “I’ve been a CNA caregiver for six years. A couple of years ago, I was taking care of a client, and when I took waste outside, the trash bins had maggots. I started looking for a place that would clean the bin in an environmentally friendly way but was convenient for community members. I went door to door in the community, asking people how they cleaned their trans bins & if they would be interested in a cleaning service. Feedback shows that many people are using bleach, simple green, and other harmful chemicals to clean their bins. Tomash says he did the math, and it turns out it’s about 300-350 unfiltered gallons of water going into the environment with an average of 7-14 GPM spraying out of hose..”
Kulture Kleaning Services uses an EPA-approved method that filters and re-uses the water, ensuring that water doesn’t go to waste and that any “nastiness” in the bins doesn’t go into streets, drains, and our watershed.
Tomash finds running a small business with his uncle deeply rewarding. “It’s been great being able to connect with the community and explain what my business is. I love speaking with community members, connecting, and learning what services are needed.”
As he shares, “I’m excited. I’m always brainstorming about new ideas to bring to the community. The goal is to keep the services affordable and to give homeowners a break from their daily work. That’s where many of our services come in at. This is my first time being a business owner. It’s been great working with my uncle and building that trust, too. I just want to have a happy community and a happy life.”
