Healthy Pet has engaged deeply with Sustainable Connections and takes part in the Toward Zero Waste, Community Energy Challenge, Eat Local First, and Sustainable Business Development Campaigns. Their Toward Zero Waste efforts have diverted over 80% of their waste from landfill, and their participation in the Community Energy Challenge was a partnership that led to the program’s largest LED lighting retrofit to date.
Corporate responsibility is a core value across every facet of the company. From sourcing and manufacturing to materials and packaging, Healthy Pet strives to value and protect the Earth’s natural resources, as well as the health and wellness of pets and the people that love them.
From species-specific products for small animals to high performance yet natural innovations for cats and dogs, Healthy Pet utilizes sustainable materials such as cellulose fibers and natural wood from sustainable sources, free of harmful chemicals and other pollutants–and they have been doing it proudly for over 25 years.
The wood used to make several of their cat litters is sourced in accordance with the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), the largest and oldest international, non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through third-party certification. Healthy Pet is also a proud supporter of the Pet Industry Sustainability Coalition (PISC), the leading organization for sustainable advancement in the pet industry.
We are proud to have their support as a sponsor of the Sustainable Business Development Program.
