Come join the party!

From Bellingham to Brooklyn, booksellers and book lovers will celebrate Saturday, April 28th as Independent Bookstore Day. For the fourth year in a row, we’re throwing a party to celebrate the things that make independent bookstores special—and you’re invited to spend the day at Village Books and Paper Dreams!

This year we are excited to celebrate in both of our stores – join us at 10am in Lynden or 9am in Fairhaven to be first in line for exclusive, limited-edition Independent Bookstore Day items like the ever-popular Literary Tea Towels! We’re also tickled to revive our “writers in the window” scene where local writers will settle in to get writing in the front window of the store. And stick around for more fun throughout the day – it’s not a party without presents, so keep your eye out for treats, games, and giveaways throughout the day. And of course, you won’t want to miss our annual book walk!

At 4pm in Lynden, Lou McKee will be our featured author as she presents her beautiful book, The Klee Wyck Journal.

At 7pm in Fairhaven, we will round out the day with a special event featuring celebrated local authors J.L.Oakley, and Mike Impero down in the readings gallery.
