FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Greenest Blue Van Sparks Changes at Sustainable Connections

BELLINGHAM, WA, May 24, 2018 | Sustainable Connections announces the departure of longtime Energy Program Manager, Jeff Aslan, and the promotion of Rose Lathrop to Program Director.

Jeff, who has been with Sustainable Connections for the past five years and served as the Energy Program Manager for three, will be leaving Sustainable Connections this spring.

Jeff’s vision and leadership enabled Sustainable Connections’ Energy program to grow and create more meaningful and lasting impact in our community. He has been key in building new partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and state and local governments, and his passion for policy allowed him to be an agent of change for the counties that the Energy program serves.

Recently, Jeff and his wife Annie decided to embark upon the trip of a lifetime to climb, hike and ski their hearts out all across the country. They have been outfitting a Sprinter van, now almost finished with their net zero inspired build out, and will be traveling for the rest of the year. Concurrently, Rose Lathrop, Sustainable Connections’ Green Building & Smart Growth Manger, has been promoted to Program Director and will oversee the Green Building & Smart Growth, Energy, and the Sustainable Business Development programs.

“Jeff has been a trusted leader here at Sustainable Connections,” said Derek Long, Sustainable Connections’ Executive Director. “We will continue to build upon his accomplishments while celebrating and recognizing the lasting impact he’s made. Though we are sad to see him go, we are excited to have Rose move into this new position. She has proven to be a creative and inspiring leader both inside Sustainable Connections and throughout the community.”

Rose has been a Program Manager for the past six year and prior to that, served on the board of Sustainable Connections for two. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor, and was named as one of the 2016 Under 40 Honorees by the NW Energy Coalition.
