Volunteer!
And bring a friend!
It takes a village to pull off a Sustainable Connections event, and we could always use some more helping hands! Recruit a friend to volunteer at the Whatcom County Farm Tour and receive a tin of Flying Bird Botanicals tea or hot cocoa (you choose!), or a local gift card from us.
Here’s How:
1. Contact Us
Have your friend email Abbie, our volunteer coordinator, at Abbie@SustainableConnections.org to get filled in on all the needs and details for the day. Or, with your friends permission, fill out the volunteer form below. Abbie will get their contact information from the form and she’ll get in touch with them about volunteering.
2. Spread the love on Social Media
Want to recruit lots of friends? Copy and paste the text below to your social media page to spread the word about volunteering far and wide.
3. Refer your Company or Connect us to your community
Many companies have volunteering policies and are looking for more ways to get involved in the community.
Check in with your workplace, distribute flyers, and see how you might engage your co-workers! Are you a member of a church, student club, or other organization that may be interested in
volunteering? Introduce us to your networks, and we’ll provide materials and
information about getting started.
Want to spend part of the day at amazing local farms? Meet folks who are stoked about local food? Relax in County and pet baby farm animals? If so, then volunteering for the Whatcom County Farm Tour is for you! If you’re interested in volunteering on
September 7th or 8th, email abbie@sustainableconnections.org to get involved. We would so appreciate your help! Volunteers will greet tour-goers, pass out materials, and will encourage everyone to get to know local farmers at one of the tour stops.
Volunteer Referral
Once we’ve got your friend all set to volunteer, Abbie will be in touch with a local gift for you!
