Join the North Cascades Audubon Society and the Whatcom Museum for “Bird Watching the Easy Way: Tracking Seabirds in the Pacific Ocean, with Jonathan Felis, from the USGS Western Ecological Research Center.

Seabirds have been historically difficult for researchers to study in the marine realm, given the relative inaccessibility of their vast oceanic habitats. More recently, rapid advances in bio-logging technologies have made it possible to track and study the movements of seabirds in unparalleled ways, from mapping trans-equatorial migration routes to revealing previously unknown breeding locations. In this presentation, Jonathan Felis, USGS Western Ecological Research Center, will discuss examples of recent research tracking Pacific Ocean seabirds and some of the conservation and management implications of those studies.

Registration is free but required. Participants will receive an email confirmation with the Zoom login info once they sign up. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bird-watching-the-easy-way-tracking-seabirds-in-the-pacific-ocean-registration-122320486869
