One of the questions I get asked most as a coach and athlete is “WHAT kinds of intervals should I do and HOW and WHY?!” In this informal Q&A session I will provide advice on simple, actionable training methods to help athletes better understand interval training for their ability level and training goals.
This session will begin with a 20min presentation followed by an interactive Q&A with the audience, providing an opportunity to address specific questions on the spot. Participants will come away with: knowing how to define the demands of their event, how to evaluate their abilities as an athlete, how/why to think about “training zones”, and how/why to implement specific types of interval training in a safe and sustainable way.
This talk is oriented towards novice to expert level, performance-oriented people with at least some experience in a structured training program, either non-competitive or age-group competitive, self-coached, or simply curious to learn more about how to improve their own process.
